Award-winning journalist
and strategic communications leader
I help mission-driven organizations navigate public conversations with clarity, credibility and impact — working at the intersection of journalism, advocacy and executive leadership.
A communicator who’s worked every side of the story.
I’m an award-winning journalist and communications leader who helps mission-driven organizations navigate public conversations with clarity, credibility and impact. Over my career, I’ve worked at the intersection of journalism, advocacy and executive leadership — from Pulitzer Prize–winning newsrooms to national nonprofit organizations and global enterprises — shaping conversations about media, gender, race and power.
I am principal and founder of Chancellor Communications. We partner with nonprofits, advocacy organizations, foundations, academic institutions, media companies and corporations on strategic communications, media relations, executive and organizational messaging, project management, content development and crisis communications. I bring a journalist’s rigor, a strategist’s perspective, an editor’s precision and a deep understanding of accountability, equity and public responsibility.

Changing the agenda, advancing equity
As Director of Communications, I grew the organization’s reach fourfold and spearheaded groundbreaking reports, including “The Status of Women in the U.S. Media” and “Women of Color in the U.S. News Media,” resulting in extensive coverage in dozens of news outlets including The Washington Post, CBS online and NPR.

Local journalism with transformational reach
As Local News Editor, I was part of the Pulitzer Prize-winning team that received the Public Service Award for our yearlong series “A Question of Color,” which focused on race relations. During my tenure, I led a group of reporters who covered local government, education, and social issues. Additionally, I managed the paper’s local news bureau and oversaw recruitment and training.
